Earlier, new orders could be added to a batch post order confirmation as well. This led to discrepancy in inventory details in picklist and total ordered items in the batch.
Let us say a batch was created for 10 orders. The picklist will include inventory details for those 10 orders. The warehouse team then would start the picking process and confirm orders.
Now, if post batch order confirmation, more orders were added to the same batch, the previously generated picklist will continue to have details for 10 originally added orders only, while the actual ordered items in the batch would have increased.
This would create confusion for the warehouse team, and in turn delay batch order processing.
To overcome this scenario, the system now restricts adding new orders to a batch once existing order(s) in that batch are confirmed for order processing.
