The upgraded order routing functionality enables you to define order routing rules directly from the system. This ensures customer orders are fulfilled in the shortest time possible while you incur the minimum shipping cost.
Your order is automatically routed to a warehouse location based on the order routing option defined.
Order routing options can be opted based on:
1. Priority only
The system automatically routes orders to warehouses based on the priorities you define in the system.
For example, if Warehouse A and Warehouse B are assigned priority 1 and 2 respectively, the order will be routed to Warehouse A. In case of non-availability of inventory in Warehouse A, the order will be routed to Warehouse B.
2. Distance and Priority
The order will be routed to the warehouse that is nearest to the customer’s shipping address if it has the required inventory available. In case two or more warehouses have the same distance from the shipping location the system will assign the order based on the priority assigned to the warehouses.
For example, the shipping location for a customer is equidistant from Warehouse A and Warehouse B. In case, Warehouse A is prioritized over Warehouse B the order will be automatically assigned to Warehouse A.
3. Routing based on PIN codes (PIN code forced)
One PIN code can be assigned to only 1 specific warehouse. Orders will be automatically routed to the warehouse based on the customer address (PIN code). In case the assigned warehouse does not have available inventory, the order will be shown as a pending order in the primary warehouse.
To avoid this you can upload all the PIN codes to a different warehouse.
For example, pin code 110006 is assigned to Warehouse A, and all PIN codes (including 110006) are assigned to Warehouse B. The system will only route the order to Warehouse B if Warehouse A does not have the required quantity available.
Please note that you can upload all PIN codes only to a single warehouse in case of PIN code forced.
4. Routing order based on PIN codes and warehouse priority (Pincode Optional)
The same PIN codes can be assigned to multiple warehouses. The system will route the order to the warehouse with available inventory based on the priorities set.
You can select your routing option from the Masters>>Order Routing Master section.
