TataCliQ is the Tata Group’s eCommerce initiative. It was launched in May 2016 and sells electronics, high-end fashion apparel and footwear. Tata CliQ offers consumers in-store express deliveries, easy returns and pick up across 1,200+ stores in 90+ towns in India.
Known for carrying world-famous brands such as Hugo Boss, Armani and Michael Kors, Tata Cliq’s annual revenue exceeds USD 100 billion.
Before EasyEcom, all warehousing operations,i.e. Inwarding, shelving and outwarding happened manually through Excel. Orders were processed through the seller portal on Tata CliQ’s backend and the same was used to generate invoices and dispatch orders.
The 60/40 ratio of manual and automated intervention was unfavorable because it created silos in operations and communications. As a result, there was a dip in warehousing efficiency.
As an aggregator platform, TataCliQ operates their own warehouse and inventory and partners with individual sellers. TataCliQ handed over warehousing operations to EasyEcom to process orders received from both inventory models.streams.
